Director Rachel Macklin supplied the following: “For such a large show, Antony & Cleopatra tells a surprisingly intimate story about one man’s struggle to separate loyalty to his country from his love of a Queen. It is a story of honor, desire, power and betrayal, and Odyssey’s production of A&C is truly set apart from the rest. It boasts a dynamic, talented cast of 19 performers, and a unique performance space that lends itself perfectly to Shakespeare’s tale. As a director, I jumped at the chance to stage the decadence of Rome and Egypt at the Brooklyn Lyceum, a 1910 bathhouse that was converted to a theatre space.”
