The Jolly Llamas are an improvisational and sketch comedy troupe dedicated to working constructively with the audience and one another to produce a show that maintains a high level of spontaneity and quality. In 2002, the Llamas used the “Three Course Comedy” format, where the audience selected the sketches and improvisational formats to be performed from a master playlist. In 2003, the Llamas will be experimenting with a true longform format, where a single audience suggestion is spun into an hour-long improvised theatrical event. The Jolly Llamas have performed in such venues as the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre, ImprovBoston (in Boston), Gotham City Improv, the Big Apple Improv Festival, the Producer’s Club, and the Manhattan Theater Source.
